Superdrug launches Mirakl third-party marketplace with 300 brands!

The new marketplace doubles the number of products available on Superdrug .com from today.

The health and beauty retailer‘s new platform houses a range of brands, from premium beauty and wellness such as Up Circle Beauty to Vidrate, and hydration drinks.

The platform has been integrated onto Superdrug.com where third-party marketplace products will sit alongside Superdrug products and will be identifiable with a marketplace logo and banner.

In a release, the business said the Superdrug Marketplace “will bring an entire new range of undiscovered, innovative, affordable products to UK consumers for the first time”, with a focus on growing trends including homegrown, female-founded, sustainable and inclusive new brands.

Superdrug marketing and ecommerce director Matt Walburn said: “Marketplace is the exciting next step in our digital transformation programme,”

“Our intention is twofold; to promote diversity by supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses within the industry and to dramatically increase our range on Superdrug.com; broadening and strengthening our accessible beauty and health offering to our customers.”

Brands launching on the new Marketplace include cruelty-free ethical skincare range Up Circle, UK brand Nature Spell, Women’s razor brand FFS Beauty and more.

Third-party products on the platform will sit alongside Superdrug products on the company’s website and will be identifiable with a marketplace logo and banner.

The aforementioned brands include Up Circle, Nature Spell, FFS Beauty and Jecca Blac.

Marketing and E-commerce Director Matt Walburn, who led the development of the Marketplace at Superdrug, comments: “Marketplace is the exciting next step in our digital transformation programme. “

“Our intention is twofold; to promote diversity by supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses within the industry and to dramatically increase our range on Superdrug.com, broadening and strengthening our accessible beauty and health offering to our customers.”

The Marketplace platform was developed with Mirakl. KPS was enlisted to implement the Mirakl tech into Superdrug’s existing SAP commerce e-commerce platform.

Sophie Marchessou, Executive Vice President Customer Success B2C, Mirakl, says: “Our technology has supported Superdrug to already onboard an impressive 300+ carefully selected partner brands to their marketplace in time for its launch.”

“This initial growth will drive a wider, highly curated product offering, enabling Superdrug to efficiently respond to, and go beyond their customers’ needs.”

Branwell Moffat, Director of CX Consulting at KPS, says: "This has a been a great project to be involved with and I'm excited to see the positive impact that this has for Superdrug and their customers.”

“It's been a fantastic partnership between the Superdrug, Mirakl and KPS teams who have delivered a high quality marketplace implementation in a very short space of time.”

“I can honestly say that it has been a pleasure working with the team at A.S. Watson and Superdrug and I'm looking forward to what we can do together in the future."
